John M. Holland, P.E. - President

John is a licensed Professional Engineer with over 19 years of experience in structural design and over 30 years of experience in construction disciplines. Throughout his career, he has been key to planning, design, and construction of numerous high profile projects in both the private and public sectors.

John’s design and analysis experience includes shallow foundations, mat foundations, drilled pier foundations, concrete and concrete masonry retaining walls, structural steel framing, wind bracing, reinforced concrete beams and columns, composite floor slabs, steel joists/joist girders, concrete masonry, light gage steel framing, and timber framing.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University (Summa Cum Laude); Master of Science in Civil Engineering from University of Houston (emphasis in structural engineering design and analysis).

Registrations: Licensed Professional Engineer in the following states: Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas

Amy E. Holland - Vice President and Project Engineer

Amy has over 17 years experience as a project engineer.

Her analysis and design experience includes structural steel framing, timber framing, shallow foundations, drilled pier foundations, light gage steel framing, and retaining walls, including concrete, CMU, and Keystone®.

As vice president in charge of operations, her concise thinking and ability to understand and visualize a project has been a great contribution to Holland Engineering's team dynamic. This contributes to the continued timely and efficient completion of structural engineering projects.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University with honors and awards, including Chi Epsilon, Tau Beta Pi, Mortar Board, and Omicron Delta Kappa.

RJ Brey, PE

Project Engineer

RJ is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas with five years of experience in building design. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He enjoys the challenge of developing structural solutions that enable creative architectural form design. He also manages the building information modeling (BIM) sector of Holland Engineering.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University
  • Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University
  • Master’s Thesis: “A Systematic Investigation of Shear Connections Between Full-Depth Precast Panels and Precast Prestressed Bridge Girders”

James Mitchell, EIT

Project Engineer

James has analysis and design experience that covers shallow foundations, drilled pier foundations, concrete and concrete masonry retaining walls, structural steel framing and wind bracing. This proficiency also includes, reinforced concrete beams and columns, steel joists, concrete masonry, light gage steel framing, and timber framing.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Tyler
  • Bachelor of Science in Physics from Stephen F. Austin State University

Kristin Sanders

Drafting Technician

Kristin has over 15 years of experience and uses both AutoCAD and Revit Structure for the preparation of construction documents. Not only does she have experience in structural drafting, but also architectural, civil, and 3D for custom office furniture.

Kristin’s precision and attention to detail helps ensure accurate documents that aid our timely and efficient preparation of structural components and systems.

Training / Skills:

  • Certified in AutoCAD and Computer Networking
  • Training in Graphic and Web Design

Holly Lazarine

Administrative Assistant

Since joining the Holland Engineering team in 2012, Holly has applied her ten years of experience in the banking industry, including several years as a supervisor, to her client support and liaison roles.

She has extensive knowledge in various business computer information systems and has used this knowledge, as well as her customer service experience, to strengthen Holland Engineering’s team approach to project fulfillment.
